Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course lies in the heart of San Luis Obispo, only one mile off Highway 101. This executive length course offers a unique opportunity for the entire family. Low fees, quality maintenance & friendly staff make this an experience worth repeating. Rated one of the best-maintained layouts on the Central Coast. 9 holes, par 30. Laguna Lake Municipal Golf Course has all elevated greens. A couple of holes require shots over a ditch. There are many trees, but no bunkers on the course. The ladies play from the same set of tees as the men.

San Luis Obispo County Club is a private golf course located in San Luis Obispo's Edna Valley wine country. Hosts the only professional tournament currently being played in the county - the Straight Down Fall Classic, a successful two-day pro-am that brings a handful of big-name players to San Luis Obispo Country Club each fall. This is a hilly course with narrow fairways that are protected by multiple layers of rough. The greens are fairly flat, but they are extremely fast.

Dairy Creek Golf Course is the newest of the three courses operated by the County of San Luis Obispo. Dairy Creek is defined by Pennington Creek along the front-nine and the actual Dairy Creek that meanders through the back-nine. Built along rolling hills, the par 71 course rises and falls 300 feet twice, offering enchanting views of the surrounding El Chorro valley. This course has a links-style design with very few trees in the layout. The course has been built in the rolling coastal foothills with several elevated greens and tees that call for many uphill and downhill shots. While the fairways are open, quite a few are narrow and sloped with environmental sensitive areas on the sides of the fairways from which you cannot retrieve your ball.

The Avila Beach Golf Resort Golf Course has many interesting holes with several elevated tees and greens, particularly on the front nine. The front nine also has several holes with narrow openings from the tee to the fairway. Large trees line the fairways and come into play throughout the course. The greens vary in size from small to large and are sloped, but don't have any severe undulation. There are several holes that require shots over water or gullies. Three separate holes on the back nine require a shot across a river.
